Courtney Weaver, LVT, KPA CTP

Courtney began riding horses at a young age and developed a deep love for all animals. While working as a kennel attendant, she realized her love for working with pets and wanted to learn all about them. In 2004, she received her degree in Veterinary Technology. Throughout her career, she has worked with many different species.  She received invaluable experience from several internships, including rehabilitation on injured Kentucky racehorses. As an LVT at HCAH, Courtney developed a strong interest in animal behavior and realized that many pet owners were struggling with behavior issues. She attended the Karen Pryor Academy and became a KPA Certified Training Partner in 2009.  Since then she has implemented low stress handling and restraint techniques and a DayCare program. It has been exciting to see how these changes have improved our relationships with our patients.  Courtney believes that positive reinforcement training can truly strengthen the human-animal bond. Courtney is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America and the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Tyler and adorable son Nash. They have a full house with Kylee, Cameron and Izzy.
