Valerie Hurst, LVT

Valerie received her license in Veterinary Technology in 2001.  She was the technician for orthopedic surgery and physical rehabilitation for the small animal clinic of Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine for almost ten years before moving to Athens in 2010.  She has completed the courses for small animal rehabilitation at The University of Tennessee and is planning on taking the licensing test in the near future.  Valerie has taken courses through Hills Science Diet and Nestle Purina in nutritional advocacy and to become a certified weight coach.  She joined the HCAH team in 2011 where she does most of the dentistry and anesthesia for the hospital.  Valerie’s special interest include dentistry, surgery, nutrition, and rehabilitation.  Valerie and her husband Justin have a daughter named Ella, son Gage, schnauzer CJ, horse Whiskey and their daughter’s three hens.  

Jaclyn Clark, LVT, Practice Manager

Jaclyn has enjoyed working at HCAH for over 14 years. She received her degree and licensing in Veterinary Technology in 2002. She became HCAH's Practice Manager in 2003. Jaclyn truly loves taking care of our patients, clients and staff.  She believes that everyday is a new adventure and is excited to see what's ahead for our team.  Her veterinary interests include pain prevention/management, nutrition and behavior.  She is currently a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America and Alabama Veterinary Technician Association.  Jaclyn and Jason's four legged children are Sara, Josh, Hungry, Clyde, Artoo and Elisha.
