We offer force-free training methods based on the science of Applied Animal Behavior because we feel it's simply obvious that it's not okay to hurt or frighten your dog in order to train them. Every pet needs a human that can lead. Not like a boss, but like a partner in a dance - someone who gives clear signals, rewards desirable behavior as it occurs, removes rewards for inappropriate behavior immediately and sticks to the plan consistently until the new, good behavior is a habit.

Earning and keeping your pet's trust is the foundation for a good relationship. The worst thing you can do is to take out your frustration on your pet. Dogs are very sensitive to the volume and tone of your voice and to your body language. Scary or unpredictable behavior from you can break down your pet's trust and cause more undesirable behaviors, including aggression. Every case of aggression we've ever treated that did not have a physical cause such as pain has stemmed from fear. Dogs need calm, clear information and consistent feedback. Courtney gets excellent results with no stress for your dog. Training has never been so much fun. Courtney offers group training classes, in-home training and can customize a plan based on your schedule.
